Flower petals droop
Broken beneath the soft touch
Of winter’s last snow
the warmth of Spring
blows away
the Winter wind
Glittering tear drops
Fall from upturned radiance
Snow begins to melt
pollen…
a gift
from puckish flowers
Flower petals droop
Broken beneath the soft touch
Of winter’s last snow
the warmth of Spring
blows away
the Winter wind
Glittering tear drops
Fall from upturned radiance
Snow begins to melt
pollen…
a gift
from puckish flowers
morning snowfall…
the woods less solemn
than yesterday
Pink and red sparkle
Nestled in the flaky white
A smooth curve of sweet
Winter solstice–
a hurried Sun
asks me the time
The bright winter sun
Pierces the cold clear morning
With its shortest smile
I’m christened
a dragon
by this Winter night
four days before Spring–
a slightly melted snowman
guards the neighbor’s house
a shy star
hiding among
the snowflakes
Fat crystalline flakes
Beneath the gazing full moon
The earth softly glows
Winter delight!
a little girl jumping
in snow puddles
after
the blizzard,
the Moon
Holly holds its reign
Snowflakes fall like winter’s tears
The longest night ends.
A young dragon sleeps
Underneath the golden warmth
Of a Winter Sun.
When sunlight is brief,
Winter steps onto the floor
Cutting in the dance.
Nobody around
To watch the trees gently sway
In the Winter breeze.
A mid-March snowstorm
Buries our sins one last time
Before the Spring comes.
