Flower petals droop
Broken beneath the soft touch
Of winter’s last snow
the warmth of Spring
blows away
the Winter wind
Glittering tear drops
Fall from upturned radiance
Snow begins to melt
pollen…
a gift
from puckish flowers
Flower petals droop
Broken beneath the soft touch
Of winter’s last snow
the warmth of Spring
blows away
the Winter wind
Glittering tear drops
Fall from upturned radiance
Snow begins to melt
pollen…
a gift
from puckish flowers
a few leaves blush
after being kissed
by the Sun
Small careless fingers
Scrambling for the best fruit
An apple left bruised
a Spring paean
echoing from
the old frogpond
Yawning, stretching grass
Throws off its blanket of snow
Greets the new season
one by one
the gentle sunrise
wakes the sparrows
Melting lakes of snow
Move across the new freed grass.
The birds are singing.
September 2nd–
Autumn wastes no time at all
In dying some leaves.
Footprints in the earth
The yellow and the red ones.
I am golden Fall.
Autumn rivulet–
The ripple of the water
As a leaf falls in.
Thoughts are turning now
To the sweet and spicy treats
Of all things pumpkin.
